Waiting and Wondering

He was so long ago

You are of right now

She can't let go easy

She hasn't had enough

You cannot imagine

right now

She is submerged with you

tugging on that last tomorrow

that Sunday afternoon

And if only thoughts could free us

If you would only call

pledge of allegiance

Where is your union card?

Where is my purple bracelet

the one that is half mean

and half nice

Is it stolen

have you not even looked for it at all?

And as She waits,

She is wondering

wondering If you will even call

lost in that last tomorrow

lost with your union card

Understanding somethings

only to cry in bed

understanding something

as her insides die instead

and you, you are the beacon

and you, you are the

freshly cut scar

lost in that last tomorrow

In that Sunday morning's call

lost and found and broken

in last Sunday afternoon's car

lying down inside herself

She takes another call
